I am trying to understand the current education system in India, esp focusing on Engineering colleges(other than IITs & RECs). I will be shooting few questions and would appreciate to discuss them further.
Discussion point 1:
"I think there is a gap in what is being taught in academics and what is required by the Industry. Further the large outflow from colleges are not meeting the industry bench marks. We need to have a demand-supply analysis and then prepare the students to meet the industry demand with specialization in different sectors".
Very obvious that the gap(s) exists in one form or another in any industry. My idea is to identify those 'gap' factors very precisely and work accordingly. I will not deny from the fact that the large outflow of students from so many engineering colleges are not meeting the industry demand. Are there ways in which we can solve this problem? Can it be solved by providing industrial exposure to students and giving them gyan from industry veterans?
